The Allahabad High Court on Monday granted parole for three weeks to Nupur Talwar, convict in the Aarushi Talwar murder case, to visit her unwell mother.

The Allahabad High Court on Monday granted parole for three weeks to Nupur Talwar, convict in the Aarushi Talwar murder case, to visit her unwell mother. Nupur and her husband Rajesh Talwar were convicted for the gruesome killings of Aarushi Talwar and their domestic help Hemraj by the CBI court in 2013. Both of them were sentenced to life imprisonment by the court.

The case refers to the mysterious death of 14 year old Aarushi Talwar and her 45 year old domestic help Hemraj in May at Aarushi’s Noida residence. While Aarushi was found dead with her throat slit in her bedroom on May 16, Hemraj’s decomposed body was found next day on the roof. The incessant media coverage aroused huge public interest in the case while it went on to become the most talked about murder mystery in recent past. The case was handed over to the CBI, which after five years of investigation held both the parents responsible for the double murder.
