The rift between BJP and AAP government further intensified when Arvind Kejriwal’s principal secretary Rajendra Kumar and five others were arrested on the charges of corruption on Monday.

Rajendra Kumar was accused of promoting a private company and facilitating tenders worth Rs 9.5 crore during the Sheila Dikshit tenure.

After several months of investigation, CBI had raided Rajendra Kumar’s offices in 2015.

According to CBI sources, Kumar has been charged with abusing his official position to award contracts to M/s Endeavour Systems Pvt. Ltd. and securing government tenders worth Rs. 9.5 crore between 2007 and 2014 for the company.

BJP MP Maheish Girri said on Tuesday that the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s principal secretary Rajendra Kumar and four others on corruption charges clearly shows the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government is allowing corruption to run rampant under their nose.

While Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said “Arresting a Principal Secretary and a Deputy Secretary is a conspiracy to paralyze the Chief Minister’s office.”
