The Aam Admi Party (AAP) extended its support to the movement that is opposing the location of Posco-India’s $12-billion steel project at Paradip in Odisha’s Jagatsingpur district.
“The protests against the proposed 12 million tonne per annum (MTPA) greenfield steel project are justified and the AAP, which believes in good governance, is pledging its support to the anti-Posco movement,” said the state convenor of AAP, Nishikant
Mohapatra, while addressing a two-day national level conference on anti-Posco movement, said that both the state and the Centre are eagerly pushing through the Posco steel project.
The national conference was organised at Patana village, the epicenter of anti-Posco movement under the chairmanship of Abhaya Sahoo, the convener of Posco Pratirodh Sangram Samiti.
