A leopard breaks into the residential area in Haryana’s Palwal, forest officials arrive at spot

A leopard broke into the residential area in Haryana's Palwal on Thursday morning creating a situation of panic in the town.

A leopard broke into the residential area in Haryana’s Palwal on Thursday morning creating a situation of panic in the town. A person recorded and shared a video on social media which showed the leopard trying to enter the house. The video also recorded the screams of the local people. As per the latest reports, forest officials had arrived at the spot to rescue it.

A similar incident happened last year in Rajasthan when two leopard attacks happened on humans on September 28, 2016 and October 20, 2016 near Sariska. The locals declared them ‘man-eater’ (termed) leopards and both of them were caught on October 13, 2016 and on November 4, 2016 respectively.

After this, then DFO Balaji Kari’s letter to Dr G V Reddy CWLW requesting that these leopards should be kept in the Jaipur zoo since they have become very aggressive and can attack humans anytime. The leopards were then surgically castrated and kept in the zoo.

However, they were released after some time at the request of a senior officer in the Kalighati area of Sariska on January 26 and February 1 respectively. Experts believe that keeping wild animals in captivity can make them more aggressive.
