7th Pay Commission report has been big news for government employees for months now and it is bound to get better as big hikes are being promised in various separate segments and states concerned. The 7th Pay Commission is so massive in reach that it has spanned the political spectrum too with many leaders from BJP and Congress making big announcements. This includes PM Narendra Modi, FM Arun Jaitley, BJP chief Amit Shah. Congress Party president Rahul Gandhi too has spoken on it. On February 16, he launched an attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the promises to implement the rewards of the 7th CPC report recommendations in Tripura. Gandhi who was in Tripura on Friday to appeal to the people to vote for Congress while addressing the gathering accused the BJP of making false promises on Seventh Pay Commission to Tripura state staff. He gave an example.
He said that BJP did not implement the rewards of the 7th CPC recommendation for the employees of Assam even as the same was assured to the beneficiaries. He said that the BJP always makes tall promises before the elections, but never implements what it assures. The Congress President had visited Tripura ahead of the elections that are taking place today. He said that the Congress party will bring good governance, unlike the BJP his party does not make false promises. The north eastern state has been ruled by the CPI(M)-Left Front for almost 25 years.
The Congress President further alledged that neither the BJP nor the CPI(M) pays attention to development. He then went on to talk about the General Elections 2019 and said that the Congress is the only party which can deliver on its poll promises and will form government at the centre in 2019. “What the Congress pledges, it implements them. It does not make any false promise of something it cannot implement. If we come to power, we would implement what we have pledged,” he said.
While talking about the promises made by the BJP, Gandhi said that the party had assured the people in Tripura to pay Rs 340 as wage for MGNREGA if it came to power, but in Assam it is paying Rs 184 as wages.
While talking about the healthcare system and crimes against women, Rahul Gandhi said, “The healthcare system has broken down and the rate of suicide and crime against women in Tripura is the highest in the country,” as quoted by PTI. Gandhi went on to say that 14 lakh people in the state were cheated by various chit fund companies and if the Congress comes to power, those deposits would be given back by the government and stern actions would be taken against the guilty people.
Gandhi also talked about how the people in the country suffered because of demonetization and GST and said that the Congress would form government at the Centre in 2019.
As far as 7th Pay Commission fitment factor hike is concerned, then there is good news on the way for central government employees as PM Narendra Modi and FM Arun Jaitley may well meet in just over a month or so to decide the same.
