2G Case verdict: Many Twitteratis have a common guess - that Amit Shah-led BJP may form an alliance with Karunanidhi's DMK, as it now stands clear of charges in infamous 2G spectrum case.
2G Case verdict: It seems 2G scam verdict has left many people shocked across the country. Social media is flooded with reactions full of surprises and shocks. People are coming up with their weird theories about the CBI investigation which failed to prove charges against A Raja and M Kanimozhi. Many of them have a common guess – that Amit Shah-led BJP may form an alliance with Karunanidhi’s DMK, as it now stands clear of charges in infamous 2G spectrum case. “1. bjp is failing as a party in TN. ED does raids on aidmk 2. modi ji meets M. Karunanidhi Few days back 3. 2G acquittal 4. Bjp and DMK alliance wins TN in 2019,” a user named Rahul Suri wrote on Twitter.
“BJP will need a local ally an that will be DMK as BJP has acquitted the DMK accused .. A very shrewed politics from the Modi camp .. People will forget the scam within months and BJP will rule Tamil Nadu .. A very very smart game from BJP, (sic)” another user wrote. “Thanks @narendramodi for letting biggest scam masters free from 2G.. dmk & BJP alliance for 2019 Is confirmed.. btw wat about 4G scam by modi ?@republic @TimesNow @TamilTheHindu @BJP4Gujarat @arivalayam (sic),” said Arun Kumar. “Is there any link between 2G verdict and Modi’s visit with DMK top leaders? (sic)” a user with name Kannan Masanam asked Subramanian Swamy on Twitter.
Some others also reacted on the issue and expressed their displeasure over the verdict. “2 G shocker proves a) CBI incompetence in financial invgn b) how politics subverts justice c) how 1.76 lakhs crores was always a bit of a stretch.. d) how VVIPs get away.. e) how innocent till proven guilty is still law of land!” senior TV journalist Rajdeep Sardesai wrote.
“Somebody pls set up another super-empowered, Court-monitored committee under Venerable Vinod Rai to find his 1.76 lakh cr. India has wasted a decade searching for it, devastated telecom businesses,” wrote Shekhar Gupta.
“Some journos saying acquittals in the #2GScamVerdict are based on evidence submitted to the court BEFORE May, 2014. To lawyers, please: 1. Is this true? 2. Has the court not accepted any evidence AFTER May, 2014? 3. Can new evidence be accepted AFTER a chargesheet has been filed? (sic)” wrote noted author Anand Ranganathan.
“2G verdict shocker strengthens my belief that the CBI is a third-rate investigative agency. Excellent at political hit-jobs. Pathetic at financial investigations. Thoroughly incompetent. Unable to prove cases despite clearly established malafides. Sham,” wrote TV journanlist Rahul Kanwal.

Modi decided to meet DMK barely a month ago…also this was same judge Saini who let off PC from 2G scam…we can’t really take his words as gospel truth…how the hell can he comment on whether CBI had “lost interest”??

From NDA’s side, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said 2G allocation was a corrupt and dishonest policy. “No reason for Congress leaders to treat verdict as a badge of honour or certificate.” He went on to say, “Each and every case of spectrum allocation was quashed by SC (in 2012) as arbitrary and unfair, the policy was quashed as unfair and intended to cause loss to GoI and the government was directed to have a fresh policy by which an auction would take place, ” he said.
Manmohan Singh, under whose rule the alleged scam took place, has said that ‘propaganda’ against his government has been put to rest. “We respect the court’s judgement. Court has unambiguously put to rest the propaganda against UPA,” Manmohan Singh said.
