114 cases of attacks on journalists in 2014: Government

Altogether 114 cases were registered in various parts of the country for attacks on journalists in 2014, Lok Sabha was informed today.

Altogether 114 cases were registered in various parts of the country for attacks on journalists in 2014, Lok Sabha was informed today.

“As per available data, a total of 114 cases were registered and 32 persons were arrested under attack on media persons (grievous hurt) during 2014,” Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir said replying to a written question.

Of these attacks on journalists, 63 incidents took place in Uttar Pradesh, 22 incidents in Bihar, seven in Madhya Pradesh, five in Maharashtra besides others, he said.
