World’s largest beer festival, Oktoberfest, is scheduled to be held from September 17 to October 3 this year. The festival will feature Munich’s largest and most traditional breweries. With around six million people attending this jamboree every year, it has become an important part of the Bavarian culture. Visitors can also relish traditional Bavarian foods such as 15-inch wide pretzels, and listen to live brass bands playing traditional Bavarian music. Munich’s Oktoberfest began as a wedding for the Bavarian crown prince Ludwig to Princess Therese from Saxony-Hildburghausen on October 12, 1810, and was attended by the local community.
