Lakshmi Narayanan, co-founder of Cognizant and the lifetime achievement awardee at the Express IT Awards 2017, had this piece of advice to all the young tech entrepreneurs: Do not worry about jobs, big places or big players. Just keep innovating, reinventing and focus on new technologies. Quoting former GE Chairman Jack Welch, “If the rate of change outside exceeds the rate of change inside, the end is near,” Narayanan exhorted the young entrepreneurs to keep pushing the envelope. Providing a glimpse of how far technology has advanced, he provided numerous examples of the cutting-edge work done through new technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI), which has changed the rules of the game.
Unanimous AI, a US-based company, was able to accurately predict the first four winners of the Kentucky Derby leading to a jackpot scenario. It also accurately predicted the Time 2017 Person of the Year – #MeToo. Lakshmi felt that innovation was alive and kicking in this country and we were not left behind.
