The future of mobility lies beyond just the exterior and interior design. It is the various connectivity solutions that make the vehicle of the future not just safer, but also a powerhouse on wheels. We are living in a truly digital and connected world, what’s with the Covid-19 pandemic, the need for anywhere connectivity has accelerated manifold. For the automotive industry, connectivity is an elaborative topic, right from manufacturing and shopfloor practices to smarter vehicles incorporated with thousands of sensors and chips talking to one another, with the user, with each other, and even with the surrounding infrastructure. In fact, according to a 2022 Deloitte study, more than 64 percent of respondents in India are looking to own a vehicle to avoid public transportation. In a similar finding, the Indian respondents were among the most interested in connected vehicle technology, even more than their American, German, and Japanese counterparts.
But what’s that driving demand for Connectivity is not the fact that customers are looking to interact with more than just knowing their vehicle status or locking/unlocking them. It’s a combination of what’s possible now and what will be the demand going forward. Be it introducing new features through OTA, subscription to apps, or the autonomous capabilities. The generation of data and its potential usage is all made possible by connecting the smart devices. Express Mobility – The Financial Express – is going to host its Connected Mobility Tech Day, 2022. The event will bring together industry leaders, eminent speakers, stakeholders and policymakers to discuss and deliberate the way forward.
