To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.”If the pandemic changed us to improve our lives, the forthcoming slowdown is anticipated will ring in more changes. Some will be for better, and a few for worse. It is here that brands will have to find a delicate balance, especially when a storm is headed our way. To be sure, major advertising firms have predicted that global advertising spends will slow down. Media owners’ ad revenue will grow 4.8% to $833 billion next year, according to a new forecast from Magna, a media investment firm that is part of Interpublic Group of Companies.
It is believed that advertising spends are expected to rise from September-October onwards due to polls. Till such time, brands will have to find a way to not only remain relevant but also are able to optimise their marketing budget to gain maximum impact. It is here that the trick resides in creating timeless marketing strategies which will allow brands to stand the test of time. From being purpose driven to making an actual societal difference, advertising will no longer be just about running a 30-second ad campaign on TV.
Interestingly, as of 2021, digital advertising generated revenue worth Rs 24,600 crore. The digital advertising industry is estimated to be valued at Rs 54,000 crore by end of FY24. While TV and print ad revenues are projected to reach about Rs 45,500 crore and Rs 27,600 crore respectively. As India heads towards a digital economy, it is believed that while traditional medium will have its role, digital which has grown will further aid in driving business growth. Based on the theme, Creating Timesless Marketing Strategies, at this year’s BrandWagon Conclave we will look at the importance of creating Brands through the aid of various media.
