Overview
With India aiming for a $30–35 trillion economy by 2047, the pharmaceutical industry is a critical growth driver. Currently the fifth-largest contributor to India’s manufacturing GVA, it generates a trade surplus and supports livelihoods, supplying nearly 20% of global generic medicines. Yet, from a value perspective, India still trails globally, highlighting the need to move from volume-based generics to high-value products like biosimilars and innovative therapies.
Read More..Key trends shaping this growth include supply chain resilience, stronger R&D and quality standards, regulatory harmonization, digital and AI adoption, and sustainability. By following the “QuRATE” framework -- Quality, Regulation, Access, Talent, and Entrepreneurial innovation, and targeting specialty generics, APIs, vaccines, and biosimilars, India can grow exports reportedly up to $350 billion by 2047. Public-private collaboration will also be essential to secure India’s position among the top global pharma exporters.
Against this backdrop, the FE Pharma Summit & Awards - 3rd Edition will serve as a platform to help shape India’s pharmaceutical future. The summit will bring together policymakers, industry heads, researchers, and investors driving India’s evolution from a generics powerhouse to a value-driven global pharma leader. The Pharma Awards will celebrate and honor organizations and individuals whose innovation, leadership, and impact are setting new benchmarks in the sector. Join us as we honour the leaders and trailblazers shaping the future of Indian pharma.
