Forbes has released a list of world's top 20 highest paid actors of 2017. The notable part is that Mark Wahlberg has been crowned as No. 1. The three Bollywood stars comprise of two Khans and a Kumar. The two Khans are Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan followed by Akshay Kumar.

The notable part is that Mark Wahlberg has been crowned as No. 1, but for Indian cine fans, there is some really good news as 3 Bollywood superstars are in top 10 list. According to the Forbes report, a quarter of this year’s list hails from outside the US, including three stars from Bollywood.” The three Bollywood stars comprise of two Khans and a Kumar. The two Khans are Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan followed by Akshay Kumar. Curiously, Aamir Khan, whose 2016 release Dangal currently has the distinction of being India’s top grossing film, is not on the list. SRK, Salman, and Akshay have been ranked in the top 20 list for the third time in a row.
Among the three, Shah Rukh who is placed at 8th position earns $38 million. The Jab Harry Met Sejal start has earned $5 million more than last year. Forbes summed up SRK’s annual earnings from films and endorsements deals “of brands most Americans have likely never heard of” – this year, Shah Rukh Khan starred in Raees and Jab Harry Met Sejal, the last of which was a spectacular flop.
The Bhai of Bollywood Salman Khan who was at 14 last year has jumped to the ninth position with an earning of $37 million which more than the $28.5 million he made last year. “Khan still earns top rupee,” said Forbes about the 51-year-old actor who counts hosting the reality show Bigg Boss among his many high-paying gigs.
The Toilet-Ek Prem Katha superstar Akshay Kumar completes the list of top 10 with a total earning of $35.5 million. The Jolly LLB 2 star was ranked at the same position last year as well with $31.5 million.
Meanwhile, the Forbes highest paid actor is the Departed star Mark Wahlberg at $68 million- courtesy of Daddy’s Home 2, Transformers: The Last Knight and reality show Wahlbergers. Last year’s number one Dwayne Johnson aka the Rock has dropped a place and is at number 2. He took home a cheque of $65 million thanks to Baywatch, Jumanji and TV show Ballers. At three is Fast and Furious actor Vin Diesel, whose earnings amount to $54.5 million.
Adam Sandler and Jackie Chan round up the top five followed by Robert Downey Jr and Tom Cruise.
Under the top 10 list are several other actors who played superheroes – Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Ryan Reynolds, Chris Pratt and Mark Ruffalo. Jeremy Renner makes it as well, although not for playing Hawkeye in the Avengers series. Ryan Gosling and Samuel L Jackson also make it to the list.
