Varun Dhawan starrer 'Badlapur', which garnered rave reviews from the critics, has also been appreciated by the audience and this will be reflected on the movie's box office collections.
Badlapur box office collections, the topic of conversation for the past few weeks, have opened on a positive note today with a business of Rs 7 crore. The movie, which garnered rave reviews from the critics, has also been appreciated by the audience. Overall, Badlapur, despite receiving good reviews will have to rely on good word of mouth, with box office collections expected to show a rise over the evening and night shows. However, unlike the Ranbir Kapoor- Jacquelin Fernandes starrer ‘Roy’, that featured a good opening day, ‘Badlapur’ is expected to gain strength as time passes.
With the impending Cricket World Cup and the ongoing cash crunch continuing, the scenario at the box-office scenario is definitely bleak, but exhibitors and trade analysts are still hopeful that Badlapur will give them some respite.
This year’s biggest opener is ‘Roy’ with Rs 10.40 crore, followed by Rs 9.3 crore from ‘Baby’ and Rs 7.05 crore from ‘Tevar’.
