Tiger Zinda Hai box office collection day 18: After witnessing a phenomenonal response at box office three weeks in a row, Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai has experienced a slump on the day 18 earnings. On Monday the film only managed to earn Rs 2.72 crore – which is way less than what it earned on Sunday. The film earned Rs 8.27 cr on Sunday, while it collected Rs 5.62 crore on Saturday and Rs 3.72 crore in Friday. Which took the total weekend collection of the film to Rs 311.88 crore. The film which also stars Katrina Kaif had already made it to Rs 300 crore club. But this not the first time Salman Bhai is having a brush with stupendous earnings. Earlier, the record has been broken by Sultan (2016) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), which managed to earn a lifetime collections of Rs 300.45 crore and Rs 320.34 crore, respectively. Tiger Zinda Hai became the third film of Salman to make it to the club. Bollywood business and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeting about the films tremendous success wrote, “#TigerZindaHai continues its STEADY RUN… [Week 3] Fri 3.72 cr, Sat 5.62 cr, Sun 8.27 cr, Mon 2.72 cr. The spy-thriller, which is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster, Ek Tha Tiger, revolves around RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent Tiger and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent Zoya’s mission to rescue 25 nurses from the clutches of an ISIS-like terrorist organisation. Not only does Tiger Zinda Hai have Salman Khan back to the genre he does best, action, it also marks the onscreen reunion of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif after five years.
Tiger Zinda Hai has come across at a point of time when audiences and critics were skeptical of Salman Khan’s ever getting his magic back in the box office. But then Salman Bhai has got his mojo back and what is great about it all is that he has lashed out and hit his critics not with words but with action. In spite of being a tough year for Salman Khan in the in the initial months after giving a dud like Kabir Khan directed Tubelight, Salman Khan was back in theatres on 22nd December with TZH and easily toppled Golmaal Again from the 2nd highest grosser position in 2017 within a week.
