It has been a tough year for comedian-turned-actor Kapil Sharma as his show has been marked by a number of controversies. First, there was news of a few stars not willing to attend the show because of Kapil’s tantrums, then the fight between Kapil and his co-star Sunil Grover became public and now the comedian has confirmed that the show will be going off air, at least for a while. The reason behind this is Kapil’s health. While talking to Pinkville, Kapil said that he has decided to take a rest as he cannot continue to ignore his health.
“Yes, I am just going to rest for some days. It is just a drop of a few episodes because I cannot ignore my health at this stage when my movie is also going to release and the coming schedule is going to be more hectic. I will come back with full force. I am thankful to the channel that they allowed me and did not put any pressure,” Kapil told Pinkville.
Meanwhile, a source close to the show was quoted as saying by HT that the comedian is suffering from blood pressure and stress. “Kapil is suffering from blood pressure issues and stress, which is affecting his work. The decision to take a break from shooting fresh episodes was taken mutually between Kapil and the channel,” the source was quoted saying by HT.
This news comes one day after the rumour of The Kapil Sharma show being replaced by The Drama Company became public. The Indian Express had reported on Thursday that Super Dancer will take The Drama Company’s time slot of 8 pm, while the latter will be pushed to Kapil’s air time of 9 pm. The channel is waiting for Kapil to recover and get back to good health. If and when it happens, the show might get the 10 pm slot.
