After Dum Laga Ke Haisha that was released back in 2015, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is the second film that the duo is doing together.
Shubh Mangal Saavdhan box office collection prediction: RS Prasanna’s Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has hit the theatres today. After Dum Laga Ke Haisha that was released back in 2015, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is the second film that the duo is doing together. According to Bollywood Hungama, the film opened at an occupancy rate of 10% and it can be said that the movie can earn Rs 2-3 crore at the end of its opening day. Movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share his views about the film. In a series of post he wrote, “#ShubhMangalSaavdhan PLUSSES: Super premise… Sparkling performances [Ayushmann and Bhumi]… Several LOL moments… #SMS”….”#ShubhMangalSaavdhan MINUSSES: Second half plays spoilsport… Gets unbelievable and far-fetched… Some vital scenes fall flat… #SMS.”
In some other posts, Adarsh said, “#ShubhMangalSaavdhan works in patches… When seen in totality, you carry a few scenes home, not the film in entirety! #SMS.” While sharing his overall views about the film, Taran Adarsh said that the film was ‘Average’ and gave the film 2.5/5 stars. To summarise the whole film in one line, Adarsh wrote, “Entertaining first half. Routine second hour. Weak climax… #SMS.”
While the trailer of the film garnered very positive reviews and it also enjoyed a good word of mouth publicity among the audience, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is expected to pick pace in the days to come. However, being released on the same day as Milan Luthria’s Baadshasho that features Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta, Ileana D’Cruz and Vidyut Jammwal can be a problem for the Dum Laga Ke Haisha duo.
After doing a successful film like Toilet – Ek Prem Katha opposite Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar’s new release may just do well in the days to come.
