Second weekend box office collections of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Happy New Year' are wilting...
It has been two weeks now that Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Happy New Year’ released and the box office collections are revealing that it does not pack too much stamina, having faded after the initial scintillating surge.
In this box office report, we take a look at the second weekend collections of ‘Happy New Year’ as compared to previous releases of 2014 as well as releases from previous years that made it to their second weekend.
Surprisingly, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ collected Rs 22.23 crore only in its second weekend and therefore failed to beat Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ that collected Rs 34.02. However, it is not all doom and gloom for ‘Happy New Year’ as it does manage to beat other releases like the Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Holiday’ that collected Rs. 19.52 crore, Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Bang Bang’ that collected Rs 19.23 crore and Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Ek Villain’ that collected Rs 15.68 crore.
When compared to releases from the previous year, ‘Happy New Year’ again comes off second best as it fails to beat films like ‘Krrish 3’ that collected Rs 39.74 crore, ‘Dhoom 3’ that collected Rs 38.85 crore and Shah Rukh Khan’s own previous release ‘Chennai Express’ that collected Rs 25.23 crore.
