Bollywood’s Mr.Perfectionist Aamir Khan has struck a chord with China with his last release Secret Superstar creating a major impact in the neighboring country where it is receiving overwhelming response. The Advait Chandan-film has now reached the milestone of minting Rs 750 Crore in China in 28 days. The Aamir Khan-Zaira Wasim film has astonished people with its performances and story.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh has named Secret Superstar a ‘blockbuster’ after its overseas performance. “#SecretSuperstar is truly a BLOCKBUSTER of EPIC PROPORTIONS in China… Crosses ? 750 cr mark in 4 weeks… Still going STRONG… Total till 15 Feb 2018: $ 117.61 mn [? 750.69 cr],” Taran Adarsh tweeted. The film collected Rs 5.48 Crore ( USD 0.86 million) on Day 28 to make it to the Rs 750 Crore mark. Secret Superstar has proved quite unstoppable in China since its release. Secret Superstar was released on January 19, 2018 in China.
Secret Superstar features Zaira Wasim in the lead role where she plays the role of a young girl named Insia, who wants to become a popular singer and fights all odds to become one. Aamir Khan is a fading singer, who helps her realise her dream. The film deals with issues like feminism and domestic violence.
Secret Superstar is Aamir Khan’s second big hit in China. His 2016 release Dangal is the most successful film released in the country. Dangal remains the highest-grossing Indian film in China and made over Rs. 1,200 crore in the country. However, if the rate at which the film is running continues, it will be interesting to see that whether it surpasses Dangal’s collection in the coming days.
