Years after the release of its first sequel back in 2010, Dabangg 3 is rumoured to release by the end of this year. The second sequel, Dabangg 2 had hit the big screen in 2012 and the third sequel will release in December this year. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the official announcement for the film would be made in a couple of weeks and the film would go on floors in April this year. Starring superstar Salman Khan, who has been the lead actor in both the previous sequels, Dabangg 3 too would present the star as cop Chulbul Pandey. Salman Khan even promised that his much-awaited film ‘Dabangg 3’ would be “bigger” than the first two instalments, reported TOI.
“I believe this is going to be bigger than the first two films,” he said. The 52-year-old actor even said that the team would begin the shoot for the film in March 2018. Though the details regarding the plot of the movie are yet undisclosed, it is evident through reports that Salman would hold onto his aforementioned character of Chulbul Pandey. Reportedly, Sonakshi Sinha would accompany Salman in the third sequel just like the previous two movies.
The first part of the Dabangg franchise was directed by Abhinav Kashyap while the second part was directed by Salman’s own brother, the actor-producer Arbaaz Khan. According to a TOI report, the third film would be helmed by choreographer-filmmaker Prabhudeva. If the film completed within its stipulated time and released in December 2018, the Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer might clash with another big release for the year. Currently, Ajay Devgn’s Total Dhamaal is slated for release on December 7, followed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Simmba’ that would hit the screens on December 21 and 28 respectively, reported Bollywood Hungama. What still remains unknown is the date that Salman would lock for the third part of the Dabangg franchise.
“I have recently got the narration of the script and it has got everything. It has fun, heroism, drama and emotions. It will be full of entertainment,” Salman Khan was quoted saying.
