Rob Zombie is taking the helm of a film based on Steve Stoliar’s memoir ‘Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho’s House.’
According to Deadline.com, Zombie and Miranda Bailey have acquired the rights for the project, the screen play for which will be penned by Oren Moverman.
Cold Iron Pictures’ Miranda Bailey and Amanda Marshall will be producing along with Zombie and Andy Gould.
The book tells the bizarre story of the last years of Groucho Marx, narrated by a young Marx Brothers fan who spent those years as his personal secretary and archivist.
Zombie said that he’s been a huge Groucho Marx fan ever since childhood and had read countless books on the comic legend. But the memoir revealed a totally new perspective on Groucho’s life, and he just knew he had to bring it to the big screen.
