Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra has signed her first Hollywood movie, "Baywatch", opposite Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, movie's writers Damian Shannon & Mark Swift have confirmed.
The screenwriters posted the news about Priyanka’s involvement with the project through their joint Twitter account.
Re-tweeting a story by The Hollywood Reporter, they wrote, “Been sitting on this one for a while. So excited about her!”
“Baywatch” is Paramount’s big-screen take on the popular 1990s television series about California lifeguards.
Seth Gordon is directing the feature and the Indian beauty is apparently set to play a negative role.
The movie centres on the leader of an elite group of lifeguards (Johnson), who is forced to team up with a young, hotshot former Olympian (Efron) to save their beloved bay.
Priyanka, 33, has already made her mark internationally with her debut American series “Quantico”, besides a singing career.
In India, she was appreciated for her last role of Kashibai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Bajirao Mastani”.
