Within just two weeks of ‘PK’ release, featuring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, its box collections have already overtaken the lifetime business of Salman Khan ‘Kick’ (Rs 231.85 crore) with Rs 236.58 crore in just 10 days.

Apart from being the best movie of the year 2014, ‘PK’ now has become third biggest Bollywood grosser of all-time with only ‘Krrish 3’ (Rs 244.92 crore) and ‘Dhoom 3’ (Rs 284.27 crore) above it.

After a massive opening weekend at the box office, ‘PK’ has collected Rs 53.49 crore on its second weekend beating previous releases like Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’ (Rs 39.74 crore), ‘Dhoom 3’ (Rs 38.85 crore), Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ (Rs. 34.02 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ (Rs 22.23 crore).

Take the poll, tell us how successful will Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’ be’:

Aamir Khan-starrer’s box office collections touched the Rs 200 crore mark in just nine days – equalling the record made by the super-hit ‘Dhoom 3’ – and Rs 100 crore in four days. The film’s first week box office collections stood at Rs 183.09 crore.

One of the most anticipated releases of the year, ‘PK’ brought back the collaboration of Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The film generated enough buzz from the day the first poster was ‘leaked’. Interestingly, while the buzz worked completely in the film’s favour, its content and the controversy generated by right wing Hindu outfits like Bajrang Dal, is taking it a notch above and it reflected in the ‘PK’ box office collections figures.

The fact that some right wing outfits are demanding a ban on ‘PK’ for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus is adding to the crowds at the theatres who want to check out first hand what the row is about.
