Padmaavat release: Just when we thought that Akshay Kumar’s PadMan postponed the release of their film fearing the clash with Padmaavat might affect their business, we discovered a totally different reason. Akshay Kumar revealed the reason and it will fill you with respect towards the actor. Khiladi Kumar revealed that PadMan was being moved at the request of Mr Bhansali, whose film had already been delayed for the violent protests across the country. The whole time when we thought that Akshay averted the clash to save his film from sinking to only realise later that he did was on Bhansali’s request.

Speaking to the media, Bhansali said, “Padmaavat has been made after facing a lot of difficulties. We [the makers] decided to release the film on January 25, but it was clashing with Akshay Kumar’s movie ‘PadMan’ and we requested him to move the release date of his film ahead and he agreed. I will always be grateful to him.” Bhansali also noted that film fraternity will be really proud of Akshay for this gesture.

When asked why ‘PadMan’ moved its release date and not ‘Padmaavat’, the National-award winning star replied, “They have a reason to release the movie this time. It is really essential for the makers of ‘Padmaavat’ to release the movie as early as possible. We could have easily come out on the same day, we have 4000-5000 theatres all over the nation and we could have easily shared them. But at the moment the stake of their film is much higher than mine. So, he asked me to do it and I did it.”

“He has gone through a lot. It is essential for them to release the film at this time, their stakes are higher than mine,” Akshay said about the Padmaavat director, calling him “a dear friend.”

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh took their Twitter accounts to thank Akshay for his gesture which can prove to be a real crucial step for the film. The Khiladi Kumar with this noble gesture has surely won hearts and just showed he is such a gem of a person! Best wishes to both the films!
