Natalie Portman has admitted that she has faced a lot of gender biasness in Hollywood that has now electrified the women filmmakers’ career in the industry.

The ‘Black Swan’ actress said that she was afraid of appearing vain as even years back when Barbra Streisand directed herself in movies, people remarked it as just a vanity projects, whereas no one would have said it like this if it would be men directing themselves, the Guardian reported.

The 33-year-old actress further added that she had always felt so proud about Lena Dunham, creating her own things and getting crediting for writing, directing, and acting on her debut film ‘Tiny Furniture’.

Notably, Portman is all set to make her directoral debut based on Amos Oz’s ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness’ that explores the “mythology” surrounding the birth of the Jewish state.
