Miss Oklahoma Olivia Jordan became the new Miss USA 2015 in a ceremony which was overshadowed by the controversial remarks of pageant co-owner Donald Trump.

Olivia Jordan, 26, was followed by first runner-up Yliana Guerra, 22, of Texas, and second runner-up Anea Garcia, 20, of Rhode Island in the Sunday ceremony, said the Hollywood Reporter.

The pageant was caught in controversy after Donald Trump sparked outrage with his comments where he described Mexican immigrants as criminals and rapists while announcing his GOP presidential nomination.

Broadcasters Univision decided to not stream the ceremony as a fallout and eventually NBC too dropped the the planned July 12 live telecast.

Original show co-hosts Thomas Roberts, Cheryl Burke and Jeannie Mai also pulled out from the show which was then hosted by Todd Newton and Alex Wehrley.

HGTV’s Jonathan Scott, former NFL star Emmitt Smith, actor and TV personality Terrence Jenkins and former Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera, all dropped out from judges’ panel following Trump’s comments.

Trump who co-owns the pageant was not present at the venue and took to twitter to give his best wishes.

“I will not be able to attend the Miss USA pageant tomorrow night because I am campaigning in Phoenix. Wishing all well!” he wrote.
