Entertainment comes with responsibility and sometimes a price that you have to pay if you don’t stick to it. that seems to be the case with the recent short film doing the rounds on internet, ‘MAMA’s BOYS’. The spoof on Mahabharat questioning the dilemmas of the mythological saga in today’s times has landed itself in a legal soup.
The film that stars veteran actor Neena Gupta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Vivan Shah in important roles is being received well on the social media. The film has already gained 55K views and still counting.
Apparently, in the video, it can be seen that Arjun raises questions about the sexuality of his brothers, to which they reply that they are heterosexual. This has miffed the Hindu Sena, who are demanding the video to be pulled down from YouTube.
The film that has been directed by Akshat Verma, also known for his black comedy ‘Delhi Belly’ has got itself under judicial limelight. The Hindu sena has filed a complaint saying the film has hurt the religious sentiments as it potrays the mythological characters as gay. The complaint read, ‘Akshat Verma and the team of Mama’s Boy have deliberately and maliciously acted intending to outrage religious feelings of Hindus by insulting its religion and religious beliefs by making fun of its religious book. The content of the film may also be made objectionable under article 19(2) of Constitution of India.’
The police is looking into the matter as of now and further action would be taken if needed.
