Farhan Akhtar’s movie Lucknow Central has shown average growth at the Box Office. The Ranjit Tiwari directed film earned Rs 2.04 crore on first day. It went on to earn Rs 2.82 crore core and Rs 3.56 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively, earning total of Rs 8.42 crore at the end of Day 3 (Opening weekend), Indian Express said. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, while sharing the figures of the movie tweeted, “LucknowCentral is now dependent on weekdays biz for a decent total… Fri 2.04 cr, Sat 2.82 cr, Sun 3.56 cr. Total: ₹ 8.42 cr. India biz.”
In terms of box office collection, the movie is lagging behind Kangana Ranaut’s Simran. Even as Lucknow Central collected Rs 8.42 crore till Sunday, Simran earned Rs 10.65 crore till then. Apart from Farhan Akhtar, Lucknow Central also has Diana Penty, Ronit Roy and Deepak Dobriyal in important roles. Their performances have been appreciated no less than Farhan himself. While movie lovers have their eyes on this week’s two releases, a number of screens across the country have also been captured by Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, the Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar film based on a man suffering from erectile dysfunction, says IE.
Weekdays will decide the fate of this movie. However, if the trends are to be believed, Kangana Ranaut’s Simran should do better business than Lucknow Central. Kangana Ranaut has earned a lot of acclaim of late due to her frank nature and public statements, which should help the film do much better. In an interview recently, the actress had also spoken about her tough days in the industry, Indian Express added.
