Kung Fu Yoga box office collections: Jackie Chan and Sonu Sood’s Sino-Indian venture of Kung Fu Yoga was met with less than flattering reviews from Bollywood’s critics, but according to a report in Indian Express, the film has had an overwhelmingly positive response in Jackie’s homeland China. The movie topped the Chinese box office during its first weekend, earning around 963 million yuan (Rs 943 crore). The film, which is part of a three-part movie contract singed by India and China, has become the highest grosser of 2017 in the country. It is followed by the Chinese hits Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back, which raked in 822 million yuan and Duckweed, which has earned 503 million yuan so far.
Jackie had carried out an extensive promotional campaign for the film in India. Not only did he meet up with stars like Salman Khan and Kangana Ranaut, but he also appeared on the Kapil Sharma Show. Unfortunately, the action star’s efforts were in vein and Indian audiences flocked to Shahrukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, which had released the week before. However, it seems like the venture has definitely paid off in China.

I tried very hard to do it (Bollywood film), but the script did not work out. But after 11 years, I am here. It’s one of my dreams – I want to do it,” the beloved international star said.
