Kabali box office collections: Superstar Rajinikanth has made a major mark with his spectacular thriller movie to take it across the Rs 645 crore mark. While the collections have slowed down from the manic rate seen in the first few days, Thalaivar is powering the take ever higher as the public still finds the film to be alluring and they are landing up in cinemas in adequate enough numbers to burnish the actor’s star further.

As far as Kabali collections are concerned, the hard numbers, as they stand, include Rs 200 cr from marketing, another Rs 195 crore from the Indian collections and another about Rs 250 cr from the foreign markets with all of them adding up to a stupendous Rs 645 crore as per the latest figures available.

Indications from the trends available are that Kabali will continue to work its magic over the next week and inch towards the Rs 700 crore mark,, but it will likely fall short of it. It can be a case similar to what happened to Salman Khan with Sultan box office collections. The film has been virtually crawling towards the Rs 300 crore mark, and the earnings have fallen as low as Rs 1 crore per day. Sultan is therefore, likely to fall short of the Rs 300 cr mark by a few crore at least. Rajinikanth is likely to face a similar fight with Kabali box office collections except, instead of India, it will be chasing the Rs 700 crore mark in the overall worldwide earnings category.

Another interesting feature being thrown up by Rajinikanth’s Kabali box office collections are the eye-popping comparisons and the records it is creating that have left almost all movies in the dust cloud behind it. Now, it will have the remaining others in its gunsights and would be targetting the dominant position in the B.O. charts.

All things considered, Rajinikanth and the Kabali filmmakers’ strategy to carpet-bomb the entire country with the film’s imagery, whether it was in south India or north, or even the international markets, has paid off. In fact, the effect has been electrifying. An increasing number of people have been swayed by the promo drives to check out what the hype is all about. Truly an unique first that can also be put into Thalaivar’s account. Would Kabali have generated similar spectacular reactions from the fans and the public? Surely, this is Rajinikanth that we are talking about and the answer is obvious!
