Pop star Justin Bieber’s new single “What Do You Mean?” has broken many records on the streaming service Spotify.

The song, which released last week, saw the biggest first week for a single globally and in the US.

It was streamed more than 21 million times in five days, beating out “Drag Me Down”, One Direction’s first track without Zayn Malik, reported Entertainment Weekly.

“What Do You Mean?” is the lead single from Justin Bieber’s upcoming untitled album, the followup to his 2012’s “Believe”.

Earlier, the 21-year-old Justin Bieber was brought to tears when he performed the song at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

“I wasn’t expecting them to support me in the way they did. I’ve worked so hard at this album, I’ve worked so hard at at just becoming the man I want to become and then, like, stepping into situations you just can’t help but feel judged,” explained Justin Bieber.
