It’s a big achievement for Varun Dhawan starrer Judwaa 2. The movie has beaten Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jab Harry Met Sejal at the box office in terms of day 1 collection. According to famous movie critic and biz analyst Taran Adarsh, Judwaa 2 collected more than Rs 16 cr at box office on Day while SRK’s JHMS garnered Rs 15.25 crore at BO (India biz). Varun’s film Judwaa 2 released this Friday. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by David Dhawan, the reboot of the 1997 movie Judwaa starring Salman Khan, features Varun in a double role. The film also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in female leads.

Judwaa 2 is presented by Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

Ahead of movie release, Varun had said that social media has become an integral part of Bollywood movie promotions but online popularity does not often translate into the big opening of a movie.

“I don’t think most of the big and successful actors get into this. But I cannot deny this (referring to social media), it will make you think. Today, every actor thinks before writing anything on social media. We cannot be relying so much on social media. It does not translate. Social media popularity will not translate into your film’s opening,” PTI quoted Varun Dhawan as saying.
