Jolly LLB 2 box office collections day 10: The legal drama is starting its second week today, but going by its box office performance, the Jolly LLB 2 team has nothing to worry about. At Rs 95.44 crore in total, the Akshay Kumar starrer might be well on its way into the Rs 100 Crore Club by the end of the day. On Sunday (day 10), the film, which also stars Huma Qureshi and Annu Kapoor, picked up Rs 7.24 crore, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama. If it can bag Rs 4.56 crore today, the film will be on easy street as far as box office records go. At this rate, the follow-up to 2013’s Jolly LLB should settle around Rs 115 crore in its lifetime.
While Akshay Kumar’s star power is definitely the main attraction in this drama, the female characters of the film have also been lauded by viewers. For instance, Sayani Gupta’s short role in the film as Hina Siddiqui has received much praise. According to a report on First Post, her performance of a young woman at the end of her wits left a huge impact on viewers. The fully fleshed out side characters of Jolly LLB 2 have added to its charm and the effort has clearly paid off, judging by the film’s box office results.

Saurabh Shukhla’s Judge Tripathy, for instance, has drawn audiences to the film not just for the nostalgia factor (he played the same character in the original Jolly LLB), but also because his performance was well received by critics. Jolly LLB 2 proves that while the leading man is exceedingly important (particularly, for the overwhelmingly patriarchal majority of the audience), it is not the lead actor alone who can ensure success – a good script and solid supporting characters are needed as well.
