‘Game of Thrones’ casts ‘Babadook’ actress in season six

Australian actress Essie Davis has signed for season six of the popular fantasy drama TV series "Game of Thrones".

Australian actress Essie Davis has signed for season six of the popular fantasy drama TV series “Game of Thrones”.

Davis, best known as the star of the 2014 psychological horror “The Babadook”, will reportedly play a member of a travelling theatre troupe in Braavos that stages a play called “The Bloody Hand”, reported Entertainment Weekly.

The play will be a version of all the King’s Landing intrigue that is gone down on the show since the series began.
During this play-within-the-show, Davis portrays Cersei Lannister.

The actress was also in the two “Matrix” sequels and the Aussie version of “The Slap” miniseries.

The new cast members on the show include Max von Sydow, as the Three-Eyed Raven, Freddie Stroma as Dickon Tarly, Pilou Asbæk as Euron Greyjoy, Ian McShane and Richard E Grant.

The new season will air in 2016.
