Pulkit Sharma and Richa Chadha starrer has been garnering quite a warm response from movie lovers and critics alike and is sure to turn heads and make people roll on the floor laughing. The film with Varun Sharma as Choocha and Richa Chadha as Bholi Punjaban have been keeping the audience at the edge of their seats with their perfect balance of mischief and mean acts. Contrary to Bollywood’s reputation of making disastrous sequels, Fukrey Returns has set the box office registers ringing, doing well in the opening weekend and is set to beat the original flick in terms of entire box office collections.
The film has earned Rs 59.01 crore at the end of ninth day of release and according to movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh the film is set to earn Rs 65 crore at the end of second weekend. Taran Adarsh took to to twitter saying, “#FukreyReturns witnesses MASSIVE GROWTH [55.59%] on Sat… Expected to score BIG numbers on Sun… Should touch/cross ₹ 65 cr by Weekend 2… [Week 2] Fri 3.31 cr, Sat 5.15 cr. Total: ₹ 59.01 cr. India biz.” The film’s progress has been nothing but phenomenal as box office collection on eight day stood at at Rs 3.31 crore and Rs 5.15 crore on ninth day of its release.
The film registered a respectable Rs 8.10 crore on the opening day and managed to gross Rs 32.20 crore at the end of opening weekend. Fukrey set in the backdrop of Delhi revolves around the story of 4 Fukras and their wild adventures that had attracted audience to the theatres. The film has returned with bigger mysteries and craziness involving hidden treasures and secret dens. Though, the film has not experienced competition due to lack of Bollywood releases but Fukrey with its cast and storyline has managed to do well by its standards and is expected to cross Rs 65 crore at the end of Week 2.
