Sunny Leone has become part of the latest campaign by Foodpanda.in in its effort to overcome the demonetisation crisis and help people order food without facing any problems. The online food delivery company has signed on the actress and former Bigg Boss contestant in a campaign that will be featured on a number of social media sites, including Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The campaign video shows Sunny and her husband Daniel Weber sitting at home, while the actress talks about wanting some good food on the ‘cheat day’ of her diet. Her solution comes in the form of Foodpanda, which delivers her a meal in no time via a cashless transaction.
The Baby Doll star then breaks into a dance to celebrate the arrival of her food. Sunny gave a shout-out to the company, writing on Twitter, “I usually don’t do cheat meals, but when I do.. I eat Aloo Parathas… Thank you @foodpandaIndia.” While the company tweeted back, “@SunnyLeone We loved serving you Aloo Paratha on your Cheat Day. Happy Food Ordering! #WhenIAmHungryIJingle.”
Well, Sunny Leone will definitely grab eyeballs, but will it curry favour with the hungry masses to overcome the cash crisis? Adding sex appeal to food cravings does not always work. But we think the campaign gives a somewhat ludicrous spin on what is a real problem for the public. While Sunny herself may not face cash issues, viewers may not appreciate the comic nature of the ad after having waited in line at the ATM all day.
