Tiger Zinda Hai box office collections have made it the biggest movie in 2017. However, the most successful film of 2017 has been given the royal ignore! Surprisingly, 62nd Filmfare Awards 2018 released its list of nominees in a slew of categories, but Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai does not feature on the list. This might come as a huge disappointment for the actor since a film which has been widely accepted both overseas as well as in the domestic market has failed to make its presence felt in Bollywood's most acclaimed award ceremony. The film has been perceived very well by the audience and commercially it is one of the most successful films in 2017 which earned over Rs 330 cr. Shockingly, Filmfare Awards 2018 has also chosen to give films like Golmaal Again, Fukrey 2 a miss, which have done phenomenal box office business. Over the years, Filmfare has been criticised for overlooking critically acclaimed films and giving more prominence to movies more commercially successful. Tiger Zinda Hai which has crossed Rs 330 cr mark has already surpassed many records and awed the audience with the stellar performances. Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan were a treat to watch and their performances got a splendid response after a very long time. But leave alone the lead pair, TZH missed out on nominations in the Best Dialogue category, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best direction or the best song category. Atif Aslam's Dil Diyan Gallan which became a rage among the youth failed to secure a spot. But this gesture can also be seen as a gesture of change which the jury members are seeking to bring in the industry. Rewarding a film for its content and performances rather than just its box office number is probably what Filmfare Awards 2018 are likely looking forward to do.
