Nicole Kidman recently revealed in a speech at Women in Film’s Crystal + Lucy Awards that her own success and power held her back sometimes from taking certain roles in movies.
The 48-year-old revealed that she was afraid that it would intimidate people and so it became hard to take on the world when she was constantly in a battle with herself; however she worked through it, in fact she is still working through it, New York Magazine reported.
The Australian actress further mentioned some of these issues might have to do with traditional gender roles.
Kidman also recalled that she once turned down a Jane Campion film because the role called for her to kiss a woman.
However, after receiving award from actress and friend Naomi Watts, Kidman said she would don a shower cap and kiss any woman in the room, to which Watts took her up on it.
