Veteran actor Dilip Kumar is back to good health as he was released out of the Lilavati hospital in Bandra, Mumbai, today, according to ANI. Last week, the actor was rushed to the hospital by Saira Banu after he felt a swelling and considerable pain in his right leg. Millions of fans sent their good wishes to the tragedy king on Twitter and he later responded to them, saying, “Thank you for all the beautiful and lovely messages. Your love and affection has been so enduring and so touching, your heartfelt messages on this medium brought tears to my eyes.” Since then, the actor kept fans updated on his recovery, tweeting photos of his medical checkup routine.

“He had swelling in his right leg and we wanted to get it investigated properly. So we took him to the hospital. Also, he undergoes routine check up every few months and that is being done as well,” the actor’s wife Saira Banu had told PTI when he was admitted into the hospital, adding, “He is doing fine…There is nothing to worry. His blood test was done this morning.”

The award-winning star, however, didn’t recover fast enough to spend his birthday out of the hospital room. On December 11, he tweeted a pic of him and Saira cutting his birthday cake together. As the star turned 94, several actors wished him good health on his special day.

Since then, the actor was rather active on Twitter, thanking individual well-wishers, including Juhi Chawla, Abhishek Bachchan and Anupman Kher, for their concern. It’s good to see one of the most iconic actors of the Indian film industry make such a quick recovery and get back home.
