Black Panther box office collection: The latest offering from the Marvel's cinematic universe, Chadwick Boseman starrer Black Panther has earned a lot of love from Indian cinegoers. Globally, with $192 million raked up in just the opening weekend, the movie is all set to hit the $200+ million club with style.

Black Panther box office collection: The latest offering from the Marvel’s cinematic universe, Chadwick Boseman starrer Black Panther has earned a lot of love from Indian cinegoers. So much so that they even snubbed a fresh Bollywood release! Black Panther has definitely been preferred over Sidharth Malhotra starrer Aiyaary. With Thursday previews and the opening weekend collection, Black Panther has managed to bag Rs 24.81 crore (gross) at the box office – the net figure is Rs 19.35 crore. Aiyaary has earned just Rs 11.70 crore in India.

Black Panther takes the story of Marvel’s cinematic universe forward and continues with the storyline after Captain America: Civil War. The movie tells the story of T’Challa / Black Panther, the king of a fictitious African country called Wakanda.

So far, the movie has received rave reviews from movie critics across the globe and it has also raked in good numbers at the box office across the globe. So much so that only through the Thursday previews, the movie has earned a whopping $25.2 million according to Forbes. With this, Black Panther has become the second biggest MCU preview/midnight preview ever, second after The Avengers (preview gross).

Giving a look at the box office collections of the movie, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote: “#BlackPanther emerged the first choice of moviegoers… Fared well in its opening weekend… Thu previews + Fri 5.60 cr, Sat 6.65 cr, Sun 7.10 cr. Total: ₹ 19.35 cr Nett BOC… Gross BOC: ₹ 24.81 cr. India biz… Note: Hindi + English.” on Twitter.

Other than Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Martin Freeman. Globally, the movie has shattered old record to ink new ones in its name. The movie is said to have the fifth highest opening ever according to boxofficemojo. With $192 million raked up in just the opening weekend, the movie is all set to hit the $200+ million club with style. There is only one Marvel movie that earned this big figure at the box office, and that was The Avenger ($207 mn). Both the new Star Wars movies, The Force Awakens ($247 mn) and The Last Jedi ($220 mn) have the best opening so far, followed by Jurassic World ($208 mn).
