After weaving magic at the box office with the recently released film Tiger Zinda Hai, actor Salman Khan is riding high on success. And, taking advantage of the success of TZH, Salman Bhai has now dropped a major hint in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama about what his next step is likely to be. Salman, during the exclusive conversation in which TZH director Ali Abbas Zafar and actress Katrina Kaif were also present, revealed that he will be seen in the sequel to the 2017 blockbuster Tiger Zinda Hai soon! Yes indeed, yeh Tiger zinda hai! Salman, while getting candid with the interviewer, dropped this massive news and also confirmed that the film will not take 5 years to release – for those who don’t know, TZH was released 5 years after Ek Tha Tiger.
Tiger Zinda Hai has been raking in massive box office collections in both domestic and international markets. The film has till date garnered lifetime collection of Rs 318.86 crore in the domestic box office till Friday. In fact, Salman’s TZH is set to topple his own box office record of Rs 320.34 crore set by Bajrangi Bhaijaan, according to reports. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh in his tweet said, ” TigerZindaHai continued its VICTORY MARCH in Week 3… All set to cross *lifetime biz* of #BajrangiBhaijaan [₹ 320.34 cr]… Fri 3.72 cr, Sat 5.62 cr, Sun 8.27 cr, Mon 2.72 cr, Tue 2.56 cr, Wed 2.30 cr, Thu 2.12 cr. Total: ₹ 318.86 cr.” Now, it is a box office tussle between Salman vs Salman vying for the top places on the list.
Salman’s film released on December 22 has already surpassed Golmaal Again, Judwaa 2 to become the second highest grosser in 2017 trailing behind Baahubali 2: The Conclusion that has amassed box office collection of Rs 510.99 crore. The film has already surpassed the collection of Sultan. With the release of PadMan and Padmaavat scheduled for January 25, the competition at the box office will be a lot tougher for Salman’s film to extend its box office earnings any further.
