Bhoomi box office collection: Director Omung Kumar’s Sanjay Dutt, Aditi Rao Hydari starrer Bhoomi has failed to do its magic at the BO as even after day 5, the movie has failed to reach double digits as far as its collection is concerned. The dramatic revenge thriller where Dutt is playing the role of Aditi Rao Hydari’s father hit the silver screen on September 22. According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, on Friday the film garnered Rs 1,96,00,000, on Saturday it had earned earned approximately Rs 2,25,00,000, Rs 2,50,00,000 on Sunday. After the end of its opening weekend, the collection of the film fell to Rs 90,00,000 on Monday and to an even lower figure of Rs 85,00,000 (approx) on Tuesday, bringing its overall collection till Day 5 to a total of Rs 8,46,00,000. For Dutt, this would be nothing short of shocking as he is used to seeing a much better performance from his movies. However, the film might be able to cross the double-digit mark by the end of its opening week, if that is any consolation.
Bhoomi is Sanjay Dutt comeback film after the completion of his 42 months’ jail term. The theme of the film touches a very sensitive and emotional nerve. It is an emotional revenge drama that is based on a father-daughter relationship. Sanjay Dutt who is back on the silver screen can be seen playing the role of a shoe-seller in the film. As can be seen, Sanjay Dutt is back in his best form and has performed some powerful fight sequences besides heart-breaking moments. The collection of the film might not have done justice, but the story of how a gather goes on to avenge his daughter’s rape will give you goosebumps.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the film’s hard-hitting promos and a good promotional strategy managed to create sufficient buzz for this film. As far as its overseas collections on Day 6 is concerned, the film earned 1,325 USD [Rs. 86,794] from 15 screens on the Australia Box office and 1,325 USD [Rs. 86,794] from 15 screens on the New Zealand Box office.
