Based on An Ode to My Father, a Korean Film, Bharat traces the journey of a common man (Salman Khan’s character) through various landmark events that in a way define our nation. The character is aptly named Bharat, as throughout the film the journeys of both India and Bharat are related. Romance is also a key feature of the film. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s chemistry appears genuine. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani and Tabu.

Kaif’s character, Kumud, is portrayed as a strong and fiery woman. The role was initially offered to Priyanka Chopra. Addressing this Katrina put forward that she tried not to look into others’ work and rather derived satisfaction from her own efforts.
