The performance of Anushka Shetty is something to watch out for.
Bhaagamathie movie Review: The movie Bhaagamathie is not what one would have thought of, after looking at the posters. Starring Anushka Shetty in its pivotal role, the movie failed to create the much magic. Looking at the posters, one can imagine the movie to be full of horror scenes, which perhaps is right, but not as chilling as one would have supposed them to be. It seems like that the movie was an amalgamation of all the horrors scenes one would have already seen until now. To put in simple words, the movie is not that scary as one would expect. The ghost in the story Bhaagamathie wants to avenge the death of her fiance. Such an obvious plot! The Bungalow is named after the ghost, who murders everyone who dares to enter the house. But we have such a plot in many movies, haven’t we?
So, whats different? The Mr.Eeswara Prasad (Jayaram), who is the Central minister is known for his cleanest image in the home state, and this is what threatens the central government, who deploy a CBI joint director, Vaishnavi to keep an eye on Prasad. Anushka Shetty is playing the role of Chanchala, who was IAS officer and a secretary to Mr Prasad. Various cases are filed against Chanchala to convince to lie against Prasad, and in this process, Chanchala is imprisoned. To interrogate, Chanchala is kept in Bhaggamathie bungalow and that is where the ghost and the actress meet. Inside the Bungalow, the actress experiences horror activities. After that, the plot turns quite predictable. Then the plot goes around the actress, her interrogation, the ghost who controls the actress. At this point, the climax drops and the movies become mundane.
The storyline of the movie is dealing with many things simultaneously – politics, ghost, Prasad on whom the check has been kept and the actress. One can easily predict what the next is going to be like. The performance of Anushka Shetty is something to watch out for. Her acting as a possessed woman can attract a category of audience. The major flaw of the movie is that its climax is revealed quite early, perhaps, making it a dull movie. The movie would have done better if the director would have stretched the climax until the end and reworked on the ghost part to make it different.
