SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion starring Prabhas Raju and Rana Daggubati has shattered all possible box-office records. The south Indian flick, which was released last Friday, has so far collected a business of more than Rs 700 crores, according to tweet by business analyst Ramesh Bala. Bala tweets that Baahubali has so far made a total business of Rs 710 Crs, he provides the break up as: Nett – 440 Crs, Gross – 565 Crs, Overseas – 145 Crs, Total – 710 Crs – the start itself was magnificent as on Friday it became the first movie to earn over Rs 100 cr.
Taking the box-office by storm, the South Indian shattered records of stars like Rajinikanth, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. The movie, which was released worldwide on April 28, even got listed on number 3 in the US Box Office ranking for the opening weekend. In United States, the movie trailed behind Vin Diesel’s ‘The Fate of the Furious’ and Salma Hayek’s latin super hit.
Incredibly, the movie, which also features Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia as female leads, crossed Rs 150 crore mark on Day 4 across theatres that screened the movie in Hindi. The total for the movie for the 4-day count is Rs 168.25 cr.
Apart from the business, the movie has won accolades by critics across the globe. The movie is getting a strong word-of-mouth booster shot and this going to keep its collections rising well into the week and thereafter too. The movie’s never-before seen graphics and the use of VFX is ensuring the viewers are overwhelmed and thereafter they have only good words to say about it. Predictions have indicated that Baahubali 2 will definitely become India’s first production to enter Rs 1,000 cr club.
