SS Rajamouli’s Baahubai 2: The Conclusion is setting a new record with each passing moment. The film has turned into a nationwide phenomenon within three days of its release breaking all possible box-office records. While the movie earned Rs 121 cr on day 1, the Hindi version alone has roped in Rs 128 cr on the opening weekend through ticket sales creating a new record. The news was shared by Hindi movie critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh on his Twitter account.
Adarsh revealed that Baahubali 2 has earned Rs 128 crore on its opening weekend surpassing the collections of Aamir Khan’s Dangal (Rs 107.01 cr) and Salman Khan’s Sultan (Rs 105.53 cr). Bollywood director and producer, Karan Johar whose production house Dharma Production is the Hindi distributor of the film was also delighted with the news. He posted his jubilant reaction on his Twitter handle calling this achievement a ‘historic weekend’. He provided a break-up of film’s weekend collection as well.
According to the tweet posted by Karan Johar, Baahubali 2 earned Rs 41 crore on Friday, Rs 40.5 crores on Saturday and Rs 46.5 crores on Sunday taking its grand total to Rs 128 cr. Meanwhile, director SS Rajamouli thanked fans for making the film a huge success. “It’s only natural that a big project like ‘Baahubali’ faces hurdles during release. I must say that the enormous love and support that was given by Baahubali fans made us cruise through obstacles,” he was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.
“Thank you everyone who has been with us for the past five years encouraging us at every turn. You have given us such a big success that we can keep it in our hearts for the rest of our lives,” Rajamouli tweeted. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia, “Baahbali: The Conclusion” released on Friday and is set to cross an unheard-of 1000-cr mark.
