Auroshikha Dey to act with Naseeruddin Shah in Manish Srivastav’s ‘Charlie Ke Chakkar Mein’, where she is playing a rookie officer. Her 1st assignment in the movie is to decipher a rare case of multiple homicides caught on camera and the case tests their fundamental perception of truth. She is hell bent and determined to prove herself and her capabilities in the world rules by men.
Auroshikha is currently all set to shoot for a Bengali film ‘Rongpencil- The colour of Innocence’ which is directed by Tito. The movie is based on a novel authored by ‘Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay’ who is also the author of the famous novel ‘Pather Panchali’.
Auroshikha’s upcoming project includes ‘Ye Hosla’, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. Recently, Auroshikha played the lead opposite Satyakaam Anand in ‘NH8- Road to Nidhivan’, a para-psychic thriller directed by Munindra Gupta and produced by MG Films Garage Productions.
About Auroshikha Dey
Auroshikha Dey, born in Assam (Tezpur) and brought up in Bangalore, is a diverse individual whose fine tuned skills in the segment of performing arts differentiates her from her contenders. She was always inclined towards pursuing a career in the film industry and hence after her graduation in Bangalore, she enrolled in to the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune where she completed 2 years specialising in acting. Auroshikha is also a trained Kathak Dancer and has mastered the skills of the same for over 10 years.
Auroshikha made her debut in the Hindi Film Industry in 2012 with ‘Myoho’ by Ranjan Shandilya, wherein she played a very pivotal role. Myoho was based on the concept of Karma and succeeded to bring out a very powerful social message. Auroshikha starred opposite Kanwaljit Singh who is also a part of the FTII alumnus.
She has acted in regional films namely ‘De Nova- The Road Less Trodden’, a Malayalam Film directed by Swabri where she was casted as the lead role opposite Ajmal Ameer.
Auroshikha has also played a focal role in the Seema Kapoor’s movie, ‘Haat- The Weekly Bazaar’, produced by the National Film Development Corporation. The film revolves around a very sensitive concept of gender inequality and has been screened in numerous film festivals since 2011 and received a lot of appreciation.
As the protagonist in a number of ad-films for brands such as LG Mobiles, Rediffmail.com, Tata Indicom, Johnson and Johnson and I-sure, Auroshikha is a recognised and appreciated face within the market and amongst society.
In her most recent endeavour, Auroshikha was greatly appreciated for her acting in the international short film “Point of Origin ” which was directed by Anya Leta and produced by Erin Galey, which received global acknowledgement.
