Amidst accusations and criticism over the portrayal of adult content, Karan Johar, who was recently a victim of the AIB roast knockout controversy, has apparently decided to shelve the idea of producing a sex comedy written by Sonam Nair. Call it an aftermath of the AIB roast but Karan Johar's image has received a severe blow after the show got criticized by some due to its crude content. The jokes which were considered to be too 'sexual' in nature on the AIB roast resulted in a long media debate and also a legal battle, as FIR has been filed against Karan, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and others. Keeping all of the above in perspective, news is that Dharma Productions chairperson Karan Johar has decided to shelve Sonam Nair's next directorial venture which was supposed to be a sex comedy. According to a source close to the project, "Karan is shaken by the outcry and harsh criticism received on AIB Roast. Producing a sex comedy at this point will further dent his position personally. Also, given the fact that the Censor Board is now very stringent about passing adult content makes such a project unviable at this point in time. To not let Karan Johar's brand image take a beating due to this, it was decided to drop the project for time being. It may be revived if things change for the better." Moreover, as the source suggests, the Censor Board under the leadership of Pahlaj Nihlani has become strict about featuring adult content in films and most of the films which includes gore, bloodshed, violence, intimate scenes, liplocks have come under scrutiny. Hence, it seems that Karan Johar's sex comedy won't be seeing the light of the day anytime soon.
