Amit Sadh is one of the finest actors we have in the Hindi film industry. He is not just known for his brilliant performances but also for following his ethics offscreen. Earlier, Amit Sadh made it in the news for refusing to work with alcohol brands for advertisement. And now, the Kai Po Che actor was approached to endorse a named fantasy sports app and he had a similar response.
Talking about the same, he says, “I said no for a simple reason; I am here to work and make a living through hard work. As a creative performer, I am a huge believer in digital detox; I use my phone for enough reasons. When time allows me, I detox from all kinds of habit-forming devices and activities that I feel don’t add value to my work. I like being on screen, but for the right reasons (pun intended).”
He adds, “I honestly cannot imagine myself being on the phone constantly. My audience, which includes youth, considers me as their role model. Audiences will try to adapt to certain lifestyle choices their role model make ….While I respect all forms of games, I will not choose anything unethical. I will not want to be the reason people who take me as their role model fall into bad habits and addiction. I am here to inspire people; I will push people to play a physical sport, not sit on a couch and tap their fingers for something mindless games or games that are into gambling. I will not promote anything unethical, even if it means it gives me an easy opportunity to earn money.”
Amit Sadh, who was recently seen in Breathe: Into The Shadows believes that as an actor he has a responsibility towards society. He is conscious that many youngsters are following him and might feel that it’s all right to consume alcohol or gamble. On contrary, we recently saw how a few actors have faced a lot of flak for endorsing products that were known to cause health and lifestyle harm.
