The movie continued to do better than the other Diwali release, Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’. While it was expected earlier that recent wave of patriotic sentiment may affect the film at the box office, it wasn’tthe case, an ‘India Today’ report has said.
Generally, movies with a larger single screen presence see a boom during festival season, but the Karan Johar’s film proved this notion wrong. It Rs 13.3 crore on its opening day., which takes the total at the start of Day 3 to an estimated Rs 28.3 crore.
With ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ Karan Johar has returnrd to direction after his 2012 film ‘Student Of The Year’ which was also a hit in the Box Office. In this movie, he delves into feeling of love and the heartache which comes with it. The film tells the story of protagonist Ayan (Ranbir) and his relationship with Alizeh (Anushka) which goes from friendship to Ayan’s one-sided love for Alizeh.
The film also has Fawad Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has got mixed to positive reviews till now, . It is to be seen on how it performs at the box office on Diwali and next day.
